Brief Bio
Dr. Yousung Han is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechatronics Engineering at Incheon National University since 2018. Prior to this appointment, he worked at the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) where he performed mechanical design and FE structural analysis for development of the small modular reactor. Before he joined the KAERI, he was a senior research engineer at Hyundai Motor group. At the HMG, he worked in the project of “Development of the mid sedan and the compact SUV”. He also participated in the task force team for quality improvement, working on FE simulations to unveil the mechanism of durability degradation and prevent the failure of vehicle components. Dr. Han earned a Ph.D degree in Aeronautics Engineering at Purdue University and M.S. and B.S degrees in Mechanical Engineering from KAIST and Sogang University, respectively. His current research interests are in computational solid mechanics and multiscale/Multiphysics modeling on complex behaviors of material systems and structures for their applications in additive manufacturing, nuclear safety, lightweight structure, etc.
